This is one of Intel's top laptop processors and an excellent gaming CPU. For the graphics, this model of the 16X Aurora uses Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, which is an excellent choice not only for powering your games to life, but also for getting the most out of the Aurora’s crisp 16-inch OLED 2560x1600-pixel display.

Having an OLED screen means the 16X Aurora will have an insanely low gray-to-gray response time of just 0.03ms, excellent for super smooth motion when gaming, plus the display sports a rapid refresh rate of 240Hz and a maximum screen brightness of 500 nits. Oh, and of course, amazing contrast, inky blacks, and eye-popping color representation.

We reviewed the Alienware 16X Aurora gaming laptop back in September of this year, praising the excellent 16-inch OLED display, solid gaming and productivity performance, sturdy, understated design, broad port selection, and good upgrade prospects. Making it an easy decision to award the laptop 4 out of 5 stars.

We tested the less powerful variant of the 16X Aurora, in its entry-level configuration, featuring a Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus processor, a GeForce RTX 5060 GPU, and 16GB of dual-channel DDR5-5600 RAM. It performed well against its peers, as you can see from the chart below, but bear in mind that the performance of this model will be higher due to the more powerful CPU and GPU combination.

4TB Samsung 990 Pro M.2 SSD falls 27%, hits 20 cents per gigabyte

21. Oktober 2026 um 18:07

At one point in time, it was the fastest PCIe Gen 4 drive you could buy. Now, the next generation of PCIe 5.0 drives is available, but the 4TB Samsung 990 Pro still offers extremely fast performance and whopping amounts of capacity in a single-sided M.2 2280 form factor. The main issue at the moment is price. Thanks to the AI boom driving up the prices of memory and storage, SSDs have reached insane highs, so to be able to take advantage of a large 27% discount in these times is nothing to be sniffed at. The 4TB Samsung 990 Pro has fallen from $1,099 to this new price of $799.90, a saving of over $300. This works out as roughly 20 cents per Gigabyte of storage capacity.

● Grab this SSD deal at Amazon

Having reviewed the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB when it was released, we found it to be one of the best 4TB SSDs on the market and among the best SSDs overall. The 990 Pro boasts maximum sequential reads of 7,450 MB/s and sequential writes of 6,900 MB/s, with random reads/writes coming in at 1.6 million and 1.55 million IOPS, respectively, while endurance is rated for 2,400 TBW.

The Samsung 990 Pro 4TB is among the fastest Gen 4 SSDs available thanks to read and write speeds of up to 7450/6900 MB/s, almost maxing out the Gen 4 bandwidth. This M.2 NVMe drive comes in the 2280 form factor and holds enough capacity to store a large selection of your favorite games or files.

Samsung uses 236-layer TLC V-NAND to achieve its 4TB capacity, while also using a single-sided design, making the 990 Pro ideal for use in computers where space is a finite resource. When we tested the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB, we found it scored above the competition on almost every test. On 3DMark's storage test, it had the lowest latency result, a big plus for responsive load times in gaming.

The Samsung 990 Pro is also excellent at sustaining strong write performance. In our IOMeter sustained sequential write tests, the 4TB 990 Pro was able to maintain a speed of 6.2 GB/s for 75 seconds thanks to its generous 10GB of pSLC cache. Once the data spills over into the TLC, it operates at 1.6 GB/s. The Samsung 990 Pro is also a leader in power efficiency, delivering 421.1 MB/s per watt. That number puts it ahead of all competitors but the Addlink A93 4TB and Lexar NM790 4TB.

The Samsung 990 Pro is certainly nowhere near the all-time low prices of years gone by, and I'm not sure at the moment when, if at all, we'll ever see those low prices again on storage, certainly not for some considerable time. If you want 4TB of storage now, then the Samsung 990 Pro is a formidable choice; just try to grab it when there's as much of a discount as possible.

Pick up this DDR5 gaming PC for only $899

Right now, you can grab a budget-friendly, entry-level gaming PC at Best Buy for a very low price, especially given the current economic climate for anything gaming PC-related. On sale at Best Buy is the iBuypower Slate Gaming PC with Intel Arc B570 graphics for just $899. You will be able to play games in 1440p also with this rig, but you will have to tune individual game settings to get the best frame rates and performance. Ideally, this configuration supports 1080p gaming on higher settings.

Slate Gaming PC (Arc B570): was $1199.99 now $899
A bargain-budget gaming PC in today's economy. This frugal machine features an Intel Core Ultra 5 225F processor and an Intel Arc B570 graphics card with 10GB of VRAM. There's also 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD for storage. View Deal

The graphics card used in this prebuilt iBuypower gaming PC is the Intel B570 graphics card, which comes with a generous amount of VRAM considering the card's price. 10GB of VRAM is fantastic for 1080p gaming; it is more than ample to handle the textures and shaders on high and ultra settings, offering a great gaming experience at this resolution.

At 1440p resolutions with higher settings, this GPU may begin to struggle when that 10GB of VRAM gets used up and starts to rely on the CPU to compensate. The B570 is a budget graphics card from Intel and has come a long way since its launch performance, thanks to driver optimizations and compatibility with more game titles.

In the chart below, the B570 sits in the middle of the pack, competing with the Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB. You can also check out our Intel Arc B570 review for more detailed information on this GPU's performance.

This prebuilt gaming PC deal from Best Buy is one of the easiest ways to currently jump into the world of desktop PC gaming. The prices of individual components are very high currently, and with that comes the stress and added risk of messing something up trying to build the rig yourself. If you're not confident or familiar with building your own PC, buying a prebuilt comes with the added bonus of an easier warranty situation. Should anything go wrong with your computer, the whole system is covered, and you don't have to troubleshoot individual parts and manufacturers for an RMA.

This could be your last chance to grab an RTX 5090

16. Oktober 2026 um 19:04

Recent news and rumours have been flooding the tech space about the apparent discontinuation of Nvidia's flagship graphics card. With no new Nvidia 5090 GPU replacement anticipated before at least 2028, this could well be your last opportunity to get your hands on a very powerful GPU for gaming.

The RTX 5090 not only dominates benchmarking charts in performance, but it also dominates price charts, with the cost of purchasing a standalone RTX 5090 rising from its MSRP of $1,999 to currently over $7,500. The cheapest way to previously capture an RTX 5090 in the wild has been from either Micro Centre (who apparently is soon to be no longer stocking them), or picking one up in a prebuilt gaming PC build.

● Check out this RTX 5090 deal at Dell

● RTX 5090 Prebuilt PCs available at Newegg

We've highlighted many RTX 5090 prebuilt PC's over the last couple of years, with models from Dell, HP, MSI, Skytech, and others. And there are still some PCs out there that can be bought for around the same price as buying the graphics card alone. But with the available pool of RTX 5090s soon starting to dry up, prices will start to climb even higher, much like what happened when the previous generation RTX 4090 ceased production.

The RTX 5090 is the most powerful consumer GPU that you can buy. It sports 21,760 CUDA cores, over double the RTX 5080's 10,752 count, and provides a massive 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM. Using a 512-bit memory bus, with a memory bandwidth of up to 1,792 GB/s, the RTX 5090 is the top choice for any gaming PC. When you look at our benchmarking results in our review of the RTX 5090, it's easy to see that this super-powerful GPU dominates the competition in all performance metrics.

Corsair's Vengeance RGB DDR5 32GB memory receives a $108 price cut

16. Oktober 2026 um 12:55

Are you looking to buy RAM for an upgrade or an existing PC? You've no doubt seen the news about the extortionate price rises on RAM and storage, thanks to the ongoing AI boom ruining the component market for PC enthusiasts; well, today, we have some slight light in the darkness, with a $108 price cut on some DDR5 memory from Corsair. You can pick up 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM (DDR5-5600) for $409 direct from Corsair. I've checked against our own price tracking info and used various other online resources to confirm that this is indeed the cheapest available to purchase memory kit with these speeds.

● Check out this deal at Corsair

This 32GB kit comprises two 16GB matched memory sticks, both with RGB lighting running along the spine of the heat shroud. The Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM is DDR5 with speeds of 5600 MT/s and a CAS latency of 40. This kit comes with Intel XMP profiles that can be selected in the BIOS.

We can't compare prices of RAM now to those of even a year ago. That's just unrealistic in the current AI economic climate, and whether you love or hate AI, it's not going anywhere soon; the rollouts of large data centers and manufacturers focusing resources on profit-heavy AI component production will continue for the foreseeable future.

Vengeance RGB DDR5 32GB (2 x 16GB) 5600: was $517.99 now $409.99
Corsair's Vengeance RGB kit consists of 2x 16GB matched sticks for 32GB total of DDR5 5600 memory, along with timing speeds that include a CAS latency of CL40.View Deal

There's no denying that RAM prices are tough right now. All the signs point to prices going up even further as scarcity becomes more of an issue for anyone wanting to build a PC in the next few years. If you're waiting for a fall in price, or the AI bubble to burst, you could still be waiting for up to a decade for memory and RAM production to normalize to anywhere near previous figures.

If you desperately need RAM now, this is one of the better prices on a 32GB kit. There are faster memory kits available, but you have to, of course, pay more for them, and the performance upgrades in most situations won't even be perceivable for the average user.

The internet isn’t the best place to find upgrades for your computer — brick-and-mortar stores still reign supreme thanks to bundled deals

15. Oktober 2026 um 16:00

The rising costs of components have led to a crisis in the consumer PC market. Prices on standard kits of DDR5 are through the roof, NVMe SSD prices are higher than ever, and worst of all, GPUs are also affected by the AI-driven onslaught. But when shopping around for reasonable prices, there might be a better solution than Newegg, Amazon, and Best Buy if you’re lucky enough to live near (or are willing to drive to) one of Micro Center’s 30 U.S. locations.

In the current climate, choice has been severely limited when it comes to upgrading or building a new PC. You can’t just pick the best components to build a high-powered gaming rig, as many components are out of stock or at eye-watering prices. The same goes for trying to construct a budget PC build, as there just aren’t any cheap components anymore, apart from certain parts like AM4 CPUs, which are tied to limited upgrade paths. Just take a look at the price and availability of Nvidia’s RTX 5090, for example; at the time of writing, the cheapest RTX 5090 gaming GPU available online is $6,549.99, and that’s from a third-party seller on Amazon, not directly from a large first-party retailer or manufacturer. There are even reports that the RTX 5090 has been effectively discontinued in favor of making AI GPUs, which means pricing will only get worse over the coming months.

If you’re anything like me, when I’m even remotely considering spending that kind of money, I’m not willing to risk buying from a suspicious retailer or a seller that can’t refund or replace the product should there be a fault, or if it gets damaged in transit. The original MSRP for the RTX 5090 at launch was just $1999.99. I remember balking at that price; now I wish I’d made the leap, as the next generation of GPUs is likely not coming before 2028, discounting pricing and availability.

So, where does that leave us, in a climate that feels actively hostile to enthusiasts? There is one place that seems to be a small bastion of defiance amongst the doom and gloom of the price-rising apocalypse, and that’s Micro Center. Should you be lucky enough to live near a store, or at least within driving distance, then you have another option open to you for finding PC components at prices that are often much cheaper than both Amazon and Newegg. Unfortunately, apart from a small marketplace storefront on Amazon, Micro Center does not do business online.

Having a quick look at some in-store offerings at one particular store location, I can find several RTX 5090s: the Asus GeForce RTX 5090 ROG Astral and MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Suprim, both priced at $5,029.99, over $1,500 cheaper than the cheapest available RTX 5090 found online at Amazon. That’s a considerable difference, but again, these prices are only available to those willing to make the trek to their local Micro Center store, and that’s a major caveat for the majority of Americans.

It’s not just the RTX 5090 either. I check for the best prices and deals on tech products daily, often finding some of the best value in component bundles from Newegg, where the high prices of RAM and SSD storage can be offset against the savings you typically make from bundling a bunch of deals together. Micro Center often undercuts these bundles with similar offerings at a significantly reduced price, but the issue is the ability to take advantage of the deal. The reason I don’t just highlight Micro Center deals more often is the limited availability to the majority of our readers.

Bundle breakdown

Let’s break down an example of one of Micro Center’s DDR5 component bundles. This gaming-oriented bundle features an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, an MSI B850 Gaming Pro WiFi6E AM5 motherboard, and 32GB of G.Skill Flare X5 Series DDR5-6000 memory. The total for these three components in a bundle is $899.99, with the cheapest price listed on PC Part Picker for the 9800X3D at $449, the MSI B850 Gaming Pro WiFi6E listed as $189, and the 32GB of G.Skill RAM costing $479 for a combined total of $1,117.

How much is a similar component bundle from Newegg? Well, the closest comparable combo bundle on offer features the same 9800X3D processor, a slightly better Asus TUF Gaming X870E-Plus WIFI7 motherboard, and the same amount of memory with very similar speeds from Corsair. The total for this bundle is $1,109.

Comparing the two bundles directly, even with a slight difference in components, there is a large $200 price difference. Some of that is tied up in the higher-tier motherboard, but even taking that into account, Micro Center's price is still lower. So it’s definitely worth exploring the idea of heading to a brick-and-mortar store over simply buying online. Just remember to factor in the price of the gas, and your time, on your way there.

Even with Micro Center managing to offer consumers another choice in the PC component landscape and undercutting the pricing of the bigger retailers, the underlying problem of PC component prices skyrocketing remains. Memory and NAND prices continue to rise with no end in sight; major component manufacturers like Micron, which owns the Crucial brand, have pulled out of the consumer market, meaning even less choice in stores and ending any ongoing support for consumers who have purchased products previously. Stock is running low or has expired on the best-value products, and consumer choice is being strangled.

If you currently own a DDR4 system, the cost of upgrading to DDR5 is astronomical; the same goes for upgrading your graphics card to the latest Nvidia 50-series GPUs. Nothing is available anywhere near the original MSRP launch prices, and the more affordable budget-to mid-range card SKUs only offer 8GB of VRAM, which is not great for modern gaming, as resolutions over 1080p can easily demand more. So, if you’re near a Micro Center location and you want an upgrade, they are more than likely going to offer you the best value for money in the current market. For the rest of us who don’t live near a Micro Center, keep checking our coverage for the best possible prices on PC components.

The 32GB of RAM in this bundle deal, if bought separately, costs $509, although there is a code that lets you grab a further $50 off the 32GB of Team T-Force Delta RGB DDR5-6000 RAM if you enter GTWF223 at the checkout, so $459 if you fancy the memory alone. But as part of this combo, you can offset the combo savings against the standalone price and technically purchase yourself some hyper-expensive RAM for just $151. These bundles are certainly one of the better ways of combining parts for a new PC build in the current climate.

For multithreaded applications, the 9950X from AMD is an absolute beast, one of our best-performing processors in our benchmark testing quite. It's also not too shabby as a gaming processor, but it falls behind the X3D CPUs in performance due to the lack of stacked 3D V-cache and lower memory. Save $200 on the 2026 M5 MacBook Air right now, undoing Apple's June price hike with prices starting from $1,099

09. Oktober 2026 um 12:47

Back in June, Apple hiked prices for all of its entire line-up of MacBooks and iPads, with the MacBook Air rising by $200. Thanks to Amazon, you can pick up the 2026 MacBook Air with M5 chip with that $200 price rise removed, bringing the price down to just $1,099 for its 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD model. It's also dropped the 16GB / 1TB model to $1,399, with the 24GB / 1TB model costing $1,599, both receiving the same $200 price drops. We saw these prices during the Prime Day sales earlier this week, but Amazon doesn't look like it's raised its prices on these models just yet.

● Grab this Apple MacBook Air deal at Amazon

Few can rival the MacBook for build quality and design: that's why they're so popular. The Air is its lightest laptop design, with this base-edition 13.6-inch model shipping with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD for storage. This latest M5 chip from Apple uses a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, giving you incremental gains in performance and speed compared to the last-gen M4.

These ultra-light and slim-line laptops get the N1 wireless chip for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity, along with that 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, giving you stunning clear images. You also have a 12MP Center Stage camera for video calls, along with Touch ID for biometric security.

Other specs are available, including the 16GB/1TB model that we mentioned for $1,399 and the 24GB/1TB model for $1,599.9. They're identical in design to the $1,099 model, with the same price available for the Sky Blue, Starlight (yellow), classic Silver, and Sky Blue colorways, all featuring the same M5 chip. You're just paying more for extra storage or memory, depending on whether you need it or not.

The best spec'd model on sale at Amazon right now for the MacBook Air 13 2026. This model has a 1TB SSD and 24GB of unified memory.View Deal

Amazon does like to tempt buyers with small discounts on Apple products from time to time, but these $200 discounts on the latest MacBook Air models are a good sign. Apple only raised its prices back in June, with Amazon's pricing following shortly afterward. You can't get them at these prices from Apple directly, either.

Whether you go for the $1,099 16GB/512GB MacBook Air, the $1,299 16GB/1TB upgrade, or the higher-spec 24GB/1TB edition for $1,599, these are great deals for a new Apple laptop in the current market. Don't expect them to be around for long, though. The $1,099 edition is already limited stock in the Sky Blue colorway, for instance, and Apple could raise its prices at any time.

Make the jump to an OLED gaming monitor and save 48%

08. Oktober 2026 um 12:46

You may not be able to get your hands on an affordable graphics card or DDR5 RAM, but one of the best and biggest upgrades you can still make to your gaming PC setup is a relatively affordable monitor upgrade. If you've not already taken the leap, OLED displays are the new most-wanted panel type for a gaming screen, thanks to their impressive response-time performance, inky black contrast, and outstanding colors.

Sitting at its lowest price in at least the last thirty days, LG's UltraGear 45GX900A-B 45-Inch OLED gaming monitor costs just $884.99. This is a far cry from its initial launch price of $1699.99, where you're saving almost 50%. OLED gaming monitors have come down substantially in price over the last couple of years as the technology is more widely adopted and fears of fast OLED burn-in subside.

The other benefits of an OLED panel are a very high contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1, which produces true blacks. This monitor is compatible with both AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync for ultra-smooth, tear-free visuals, and is also HDR400 certified. The screen also outputs up to 1300 nits of peak brightness, with up to 98.5% of DCI-P3 color coverage.

30% discounts on essential 3D printer maintenance tools

07. Oktober 2026 um 19:14

3D printing is a fun and rewarding hobby, but with it also comes the frustrations of trying to maintain the quality output of your printer and also tidying up the finished look of your prints. You need a host of tools to keep the process running smoothly.

Some manufacturers throw a few cheap tools in the box with a new 3D printer, but if they don't, then investing in a dedicated 3D printer toolkit will make a huge difference in caring for not only your 3D printer, but also your creations.

We've trawled through the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days sales event and used our expert knowledge to source the tools you absolutely need for your 3D printing toolkit.

Quick links

This 74-piece 3D printer tool kit from Creality is packed with everything that you need to keep your printer going. This toolkit has everything from a 34-piece screwdriver set to a magnetic project mat. Perfect for a budding 3D printer enthusiast, this is a "one and done" purchase.

Whether you are cutting your filament, cleaning out supports, or removing cable ties, wire/flush/side cutters are an essential part of the 3D printer toolkit. Sometimes you get a pair with your printer, but if you don't, or you need a spare set, then this pair of snips is a good alternative for you.

These cheap cutters are superb for 3D printing, electronics, and some general home maintenance tasks. Model makers and electronics hobbyists can also use these cutters to trim parts of dried knots and dribbles.

When the prints don't pop off the plate

A 3D printer's print beds are designed to be super grippy, so the side effect is that sometimes you may need to use a tool to persuade the print to release from the print sheet. Scrapers are superb tools for the job, with the thin metal blades perfect for breaking the seal between the print and the build plate!

3D Printer Scraper Four Pack: was $12.99 now $10.39

Unclog or change your 3D printer nozzle

3D printers will get clogged at some point; that's a 100% guarantee. Hot plastic or the wrong type of filament being used at the wrong temps will mess up the most expensive printers. Luckily, the solution to this common problem is a very low-cost one.

Swapping out the nozzle on your 3D printer is also a fairly simple task, but that task is made far easier with the right tools.

Tackle a blocked nozzle from another angle with the Creality Clog Poke. Instead of pushing into the nozzle, remove the PTFE tube and push this clog poke into the throat of the extruder, forcing molten plastic out of the nozzle.View Deal

16-Piece 3D Printer Nozzle Maintenance Kit: $8.99
Here you have all the gear to maintain the business end of your 3D printer. Nozzle wrenches, needles, tweezers and two handy brass bristled brushes to keep your prints running smoothly.View Deal

Clean up your prints

Take your prints to the next level by giving them a professional finish. Clean up the edges of your projects and remove leftover bits of print support with this handy deburring tool.

A five-port Ethernet switch for less than $10 is a typo, right? Nope. It's not fancy, it's unmanaged, no PoE, and it "only" has Gigabit ports, but when you need a few extra Ethernet ports, this sub $10 switch is a great deal to keep working.View Deal

Award-winning Anycubic 3D Printers on sale with up to 47% off

06. Oktober 2026 um 19:30

The Prime Day sales season is in full swing, and there are plenty of deals on offer for anyone wanting to take up the hobby of 3D printing or for veteran creators to upgrade their existing equipment. One of our favorite 3D printer manufacturers, Anycubic, has a host of Prime Day deals available right now, where you can save big on the latest 3D printing tech.

There are numerous great deals on mainstream FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printers that utilize common filaments such as PLA and PETG. In addition to resin, SLA (Stereolithography Apparatus) 3D printers utilize layers of cured resin to produce highly detailed prints.

So whether you want to create spare parts to repair that old broken piece of tech, knock up a customizable gadget from a print schematic that you found online, or even create your own 3D miniature to paint, there's a 3D printer model that will suit your needs. From beginner to expert users, check out the excellent deals below.

AMD's Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card crashes to $529, below original MSRP

06. Oktober 2026 um 16:44

If you're looking for a new graphics card over Prime Day, then you've no doubt got your fingers and toes crossed, praying that the universe aligns to actually offer some discounts on this much-sought-after bracket of PC hardware. One of the best deals we've spotted today is on a brand-new, current-generation, mid-range graphics card that packs 12GB of VRAM. The Asus ATS Radeon RX 9070 GRE GPU is available at Amazon for a deal price of $529.

Over the past 30 days, the price of this GPU has ranged from $529.99 to $589.99. The current maximum list price is $789.99, but that doesn't reflect the more realistic amount the card has actually been recently selling for. The MSRP launch price for the RX 9070 GRE was $549, so it's amazing to see a GPU that falls below that MSRP threshold in the current economic climate for PC components.

● Check out this deal at Amazon

With 12GB of GDDR6, the RX 9070 GRE sports bandwidth speeds of 18 Gbps on a 192-bit bus, producing 432 GB/s of memory bandwidth for speedy operation in both gaming and application use. Similar to the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE is still built on AMD’s RDNA 4 graphics architecture and uses the same Navi 48 GPU; however, the RX 9070 GRE features a cut-down version of the Navi 48 chip with 48 compute units compared to the RX 9070's 56.

ATS Radeon RX 9070 GRE: was $569.99 now $529.99
A great graphics card for 1080p and 1440p gaming, the RX 9070 GRE sports 12GB of VRAM and boost clock speeds of 2920 MHz.

View Deal

AMD's Radeon RX 9070 GRE sits just behind Nvidia's RTX 5070 in our benchmarking results from our review of the RX 9070 GRE. We found the card to average around 120 frames-per-second at 1080p and about 86.6 FPS at 1440p across our 11-game raster-only test suite.

Combined with a modest power consumption of 220W total power draw, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE is a good GPU choice for 1080p and 1440p gaming, with ample VRAM for playing games on high settings at 1080p, but maybe pushing the limits of 12GB of VRAM when playing with higher settings at 1440p.

To see a graphics card on sale for under its launch MSRP is a very rare sight, and one of the best Prime Day GPU deals out there.
